Latest Trends in School Evaluation
This was the title of the international conference held under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Czech School Inspectorate in Prague the hotel President on 18 April 2011.
The conference reflected inter alia the fact that besides traditional external evaluation of schools, the role of internal evaluation is growing constantly. This process takes place in the period of economic crisis, related i.a. to restrictions that force inspectorates to carry out deep changes in their inspection systems. Invited speakers addressed in particular the challenges which the institutions performing external evaluation deal with in the individual countries.
Besides Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mr. Josef Dobeš, and the Chief School Inspectress, Ms. Olga Hofmannová, following speakers gave their talk: Yvan Verbauwhede (Secretary General SICI), Bill Maxwell (HM Senior Chief Inspector, Scotland), Helder Loppo Guerreiro (Inspector Principal, Portugal), Erich Koch (Saxon Education Institute, Saxony), Branislav Kleskeň (McKinsey & Company) and Petr Zahradník (NERV).
