The PISA Governing Board meeting was held in Prague

On 5-7th November 2018, the 46th PISA Governing Board (PGB) was held in Prague, attended by not less than 150 delegates from more than 70 countries and economics including OECD and European Commission representatives.  The joint committee was organised and hosted by the Czech School Inspectorate, the institution responsible for implementing international student performance assessments in the Czech Republic since 2011.

The 7th international IEA conference (International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement) took place in Prague during 26 – 30 June 2017. The conference was organized in cooperation of Pedagogic Faculty, Charles University and the Czech School Inspectorate. Key topics of the conference were methodology of the international surveys, their outcomes and interpretation of data collected within the surveys TIMSS, PIRLS, ICILS and ICCS. The conference was attended by 180 participants from more than 40 countries around the World.

On Wednesday the 29th of March 2017 the Czech School Inspectorate together with the Standing International Conference of Inspectorates organized a seminar aimed at analyses and survey of educational results by institutions that are responsible for inspection activities in schools. Participants of the international seminar were employees of inspection authorities, policy makers, researches and education professionals. All together there were almost 70 guests present from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, France, Portugal, Germany, Cyprus, Malta, Bulgaria, Estonia ...

The Czech School Inspectorate participates through the national inspector for nursery and primary cycle in several innovative projects in the framework of the European schools. At the end of August The Czech School Inspectorate in cooperation with the MEYS prepared a two day´s educational seminar for European school teachers. The seminar was held at the CSI headquarters in Prague. Teachers from nursery, primary school and secondary school cycles participated in the seminar together with inspectors from some regional inspectorates.

During its Prague session in April 2015 the Board of Governors of the European Schools approved the rules for creation and uniform structure of curriculum based on acquirement of key competencies. The inspectors, who are responsible for particular teaching subjects, adapt the curriculum so that they would correspond to new regulation. The term is September 2018.

The first meeting of the national project managers of the key international research PISA 2018 took place in 14 – 18 March 2016 in Prague. The meeting was organized and hosted in cooperation of CSI and OECD. Participants from 81 countries from all over the world were present on the meeting. The meeting of national project managers was introduced by the Deputy Chief School Inspector Ondřej Andrys who emphasized the role of international research as an important part of the Czech School Inspectorate´s activity. The Czech School Inspectorate participates at the SICI´s Strategy 2020

The Czech School Inspectorate is one of the current 36 members of the Standing International Conference of Inspectorates (SICI) and has its vote at SICI General Assembly. SICI is going through developmental changes which were presented by the SICI President at the General Assembly which took place in 2015 in Oslo. The presentation is available online and offers a great overview about recent SICI strategy and development.

The Board of Governors of European Schools approved final report of the Czech Presidency during the December meeting which took place in the office of Secretary General in Brussels. By this action the Czech Presidency in European Schools was completed.
