On March 24, 2014 the Czech School Inspectorate and the Committee for Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions of the Senate of the Czech Parliament held a conference entitled Assessment of Evaluation and Monitoring System in the Czech Republic – Recommendations for the Education Policy.   The conference was held on the occasion of publishing the final report of the project Assessment of Evaluation and Monitoring System in the Czech Republic co-financed by the European Social Fund. Except of Poland, France and Slovakia, the Czech School Inspectorate initiated a new cooperation with Austria. Between 3 and 6 March, a six-member Austrian delegation from the province of Burgenland visited the Olomouc Inspectorate. The CSI will continue the cooperation with the Austrian inspectors. The reciprocal visit of Czech inspectors is scheduled for the autumn 2014.

The CSI Annual Report for the past school year was discussed in both chambers of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The Report was presented to the members of the Senate Committee for Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions on January 27, 2014. One month later (February 27, 2014), the Chief School Inspector Tomáš Zatloukal introduced the Annual Report also to the members of the School Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.

On February 28, 2014, the Czech School Inspectorate published a report Equal Access to Education in the Czech Republic: Situation and Recommendations as the conclusive output of the project activity Overcoming School Failure in the Czech Republic which was co-financed by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic. Between 17 and 21 February 2014 the CSI received a five-member delegation of French inspectors and experts of Académie de Nantes. Czech School Inspectorate published the Annual Report for the School Year 2012/2013 at the beginning of December 2013, consisting of results of the inspection activities performed in the past school year. In the school year 2012/2013 the CSI performed altogether 10 586 inspection events, visited 3 671 schools and school facilities (i.e. 38,1 % out of the total number of schools and school facilities), the CSI resolved 430 complaints, participated in 844 selection interviews aimed at appointing new school and school facilities principals and conducted public-legal audits in 614 ...

Since May 2009, the Moravian-Silesian Inspectorate of the CSI in Ostrava has worked closely with the Polish Kuratorium Osviety in Katowice. The common goal of the bilateral cooperation is not only to get familiar with the system and the current methodology of schools quality evaluation, but to find out also specifics of the foreign partner’s educational system.   In the framework of the Cooperation Agreement, the Polish inspectors set off twice a year for short internships in selected Czech schools.
